The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that a national recall involving almond butter and peanut butter was expanding to include upwards of 70 products that are sold throughout the United States.
Sunland, Inc. is the manufacturing company responsible for producing the peanut butter and almond butter products that have been linked to salmonella infections. So far there have been 30 reported cases of salmonella infections in 19 different states.
These butters are sold under several different names, including Trader Joe’s, Earth Balance, and Target’s Archer Farms. The defective food products were produced between May 1 and September 24 in 2012.
