A washed out road in Clark County claimed the lives of three people early Thursday morning. Heavy rainfall caused a portion of the highway to become submerged underwater, and the actual road became dangerous.
A married couple from Milwaukee was driving north on Highway M when their pick-up truck came across the damaged area. The weakness of the road caused their car to plummet more than 12 feet into a river below. A second vehicle followed suit some time after, and landed directly on top of the first vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle, as well as the Milwaukee couple, were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities were notified of the accidents around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, and have not determined whether it was raining at the time of the crashes. The investigation is still ongoing.
The roadway defects lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. would like to offer their condolences to the families and friends of the victims during this mournful time.
