Overnight in parts of eastern Wisconsin, severe storms blew through leaving flooding and torn power lines behind. These storms caused heavy flooding on lanes of U.S. 41 and Hwy. 21 this morning.
The flooding led to both southbound and northbound lanes of U.S. 41 being shut down to passing cars for a stretch of six miles in Winnebago County. Approximately four inches of rain accumulated in several eastern counties overnight. Western Wisconsin was also hit with storms that caused power outages, and trees to be uprooted.
These storms are expected to reappear throughout the state today, bringing more rain and possibly hail. Commuters traveling to work this morning in Wisconsin have been advised of the roadway conditions, and are asked to stay alert while they are operating their vehicles.
