Owners of BMW 5 Series and 6 Series vehicles will need to have their cars repaired as soon as possible in order to fix a problem with battery connector cables.
This news accompanies an international recall announcement made recently by BMW. According to the automaker, 1.3 million vehicles are affected worldwide, and 367,000 of them are located in the United States. The problem stemming from the trunk battery revolves around the wiring of the connector tables. The possibility of this improper wiring can lead to stalling problems, overheating, and fires.
A representative for the company said that one incident of a fire from this problem has been reported in the United States. BMW dealers are prepared to look at the defective vehicles, and if necessary, tighten the connector cables on the battery.
