A woman in Tennessee has filed a premises liability lawsuit against an Alton hospital after she slipped on a wet floor in her room.
According to Madison County Circuit Court documents, Jonell Nickless filed the slip and fall lawsuit against Alton Memorial Hospital on April 5, 2011. The lawsuit states Nickless was admitted to Alton Memorial Hospital for back pain in October 2009.
According to the complaint, during her stay at the hospital, Nickless slipped on a coffee-type liquid on the floor of her room. The fall allegedly caused her to break her right leg.
Nickless is seeking more than $100,000 in damages for medical bills and court costs.
A spokesman for the hospital declined to comment on the lawsuit.
