Two people were injured in a Waukesha car accident Thursday morning.
The accident occurred shortly after 7:00 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 94 near the Springdale Road exit. According to officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol, a car went out of control in the left westbound lane, struck the median, then bounced back into traffic, and collided with another vehicle.
The two drivers involved in the accident were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment. The nature and extent of their injuries is not known. Their identities have not been released.
A spokesman for the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department said emergency vehicles had to divert traffic around three lanes of traffic on the freeway following the accident. The left two westbound lanes and an eastbound lane were closed for a short while.
The crash was cleared by 7:45 a.m. Thursday.
