A Missouri bicyclist who got into a car accident and sued a public entity was awared $450,000 out of the $1.8 million awarded in the case. The bicyclist was hit by a car when crossing a street. She was thrown off of her bike and was then dragged by a city truck.
As a result of the accident, the bicyclist had her left leg amputated. The jury found the bicyclist 75% at fault in the accident and the defendant 25% at fault. That is why she was only awarded only $450,000.
