NFL concussion lawsuit to be impacted by Easterling’s death

Posted under Waukesha wrongful death attorneys

A former NFL player for the Atlanta Falcons, Ray Easterling, was found dead in his home last Thursday. Police officials have stated that the gun shot wound seemed to be self-inflicted.

Easterling was a lead plaintiff in an concussion-related lawsuit filed against the National Football League along with many other former NFL players. The lawsuits stated that the NFL was guilty of “carelessness, negligence, intentional misconduct, and concealment of information.”

His family is shocked and saddened by his death and sources close to Easterling said that he has struggled mentally for the past six months. There have now been 61 lawsuits filed against the NFL at this time, most have been consolidated in Philadelphia. Because of Easterling’s death, legal counsel has stated that the lawsuits may change from personal injury to wrongful death.
