Researchers discover arsenic in several organic products

Posted under Waukesha defective food product attorneys

Researchers at Dartmouth University have uncovered information relating to levels of arsenic in certain organic products. The products that were included in the study consisted of organic baby food formula, organic cereal bars, and organic energy shots.

The researchers determined that the increased exposure to arsenic in these products came in the form of organic brown rice syrup. The food that contained this ingredient had much higher levels of arsenic than the foods that did not contain the syrup. The brown rice syrup was classified as being the source for inorganic arsenic.

Inorganic arsenic can be very harmful to an individual. It can cause increased risks of cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
