Deer-car accidents in November

Posted on Monday, November 14th, 2011 at 5:06 pm

The month of November is a dangerous month to be on the road in Wisconsin. This is largely due to the fact that mating season for deer falls directly during this month.

In 2010 deer-car collisions accounted for 16 percent of all car accidents that took place in Wisconsin. Motorcyclists are more likely to be involved in a deer-related accident and must use caution when operating their bikes.

Distractions need to be maintained while operating a motor vehicle in order to be alert and receptive to the surroundings of the road. Deer are moving 24 hours a day and usually don’t travel alone. It is important to reduce speeds in areas where deer are prevalent.

Winter weather brings concerns for driving conditions

Posted on Monday, November 7th, 2011 at 6:27 pm

As the winter weather approaches the state of Wisconsin, concerns for drivers rise. Snow and ice covered roads create unfavorable driving conditions throughout the state.

Accidents and collisions are more likely to occur during the extreme winter weather and it is imperative to proceed with caution while on the road. This week, November 7-11, will be focused on winter safety. Wisconsin’s Winter Awareness Week has been put into place by Wisconsin Emergency Management.

Emergency survival kits for motor vehicles should be kept in all cars. Items such as a windshield scraper and cell phone adapter are important to have inside in case of emergency.

Winter weather increases the chance of car accidents. If you have been injured in a car accident, please contact the Waukesha personal injury lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. by calling 800-242-2874 today.
