Waukesha Man Charged with Sexual Assault of La Crosse Woman

Posted under Uncategorized

A man from Waukesha was charged with first-degree sexual assault Friday.

According to La Crosse County Circuit Court documents, 23 year-old Michael Warner is accused of raping a La Crosse woman with a knife  at her apartment on August 10. The complaint says Warner raped the woman for about five minutes and then sexually assaulted her with the knife, asking her "how does it feel?"

The woman claims the assault caused bleeding and painful urination.

Warner, who was free on bond for a child pornography charge at the time of the assault, was also charged Friday with felony bail jumping for committing a new crime. Warner was charged in April after authorities discovered 92 photos of naked children on his computer when he lived in La Crosse. He was also charged earlier this month with intimidation of a witness, after he allegedly threatened the woman who reported he had child pornography.

Warner is being held in La Crosse County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to return to court Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
