A three year-old child is recovering at an intensive care unit at Froedtert Hospital after a being struck by a vehicle Tuesday.
According to officials with the Waukesha Police Department, the crash occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. on the 800 block of East Main Street. Jose Dominguez was crossing the street with his mother when he was struck by a car right in front of the family's home.
"I feel so bad because it's my son," Jose's father, Isidor, said.
According to police spokesman Dennis Angle, Jose was crossing the street with his mother when they saw a car in the distance. The two believed they had enough time to cross but Jose was hit while still holding his mother's hand.
Jose remains at Children's Hospital and has been stabilized. He is expected to make a full recovery.
