Posted under Uncategorized

A bicyclist was killed in a Waukesha car accident Sunday morning.

According to officials with the Summit Police Department, 42 year-old Brett Netke was riding on Highway 18 in the Town of Summit when he was struck from behind by a car driven by a 20 year-old from Dousman. The crash occurred about a half mile east of Highway 67, north of the Glacial Drumlin State Trail.

Netke raced Friday night in the Theinsville Fiddleheads Coffee Criterium, as a part of Tour of America's Dairyland. Race results list him as a competitor in the men's masters division.

Tour organizes plan to honor the cyclist with a moment of silence before the ISCorp Downer Classic on Saturday.
