Former Priest Charged with Sexual Assault

On Monday, former Catholic priest James Blume made his first court appearance in a case alleging that he sexually assaulted a 12 year old boy in 1978. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for October 2 of this year.

According to the allegations, the priest took the boy, now 43, on several trips in and out of state. During those trips, the priest sexually assaulted the boy while they stayed in motels.

Man Dies after being Pulled from Lake

On Tuesday, a man was involved in an accident at Druid Lake in the Town of Erin. The man jumped off a pier into the lake and was seen struggling before he went under the water.

Around 4:30pm, the man was found about 30 yards from his entry point and about 50 yards offshore. He was not breathing when he was pulled from the water and had no pulse.

Manitowoc Mayor Injured in Skydiving Accident

On Sunday, Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels was skydiving with a representative from Green Bay Skydivers when a gust of wind blew them off course. The pair landed off target, rolled and slid for about 40 yards, striking a man and a child along the way.

The mayor struck his head on something but did not seem to be seriously injured. The man who was struck suffered a leg injury. The child was uninjured as was the other skydiver. The incident likely avoided being much worse.

Motorcycle Crash Injures 1

On Wednesday afternoon, a crash occurred involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. Around 1:10pm, the vehicle was pulling out of a parking lot along Howell Ave in Oak Creek when it struck a motorcycle.

The motorcycle was traveling southbound at the time of the crash. The rider sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. The other driver was uninjured.

Crash Injures Motorcycle Rider

On Friday night, a crash occurred at the intersection of Good Hope Rd and 55th St. A car turned left onto 55th St around 8:55pm, striking a motorcycle rider in the intersection.

The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time. He was taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of head injuries. He was listed in critical condition Saturday morning. The other driver was uninjured.

Pilot Uninjured in Crash

On Wednesday morning, a plane crash occurred in Rock County. The Rock County Sheriff's Department responded around 9:42am to find a burning airplane in the Town of Union.

The pilot managed to escape the wreckage before it burst into flame. There were no injuries and no other passengers. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.

Meatpacker Mislabeled Veal

Illinois meatpacking company Brown Packing Co is facing felony charges of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud for mislabeling veal. The company will pay $2 million to settle the charges.

The company illegaly administered hormones and steroids between 1997 and 2004, claiming the veal was all natural. This type of action puts consumers at risk and betrays their trust.

Two Dead in Semi Crash

On Tuesday afternoon, a crash occurred in Shawano. A car was traveling across Highway 29 at an intersection when it was struck broad side by a semi truck traveling along the highway.

Two people were in the car at the time of the crash. Both of them were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was uninjured. No charges will be filed.

Teen Dies in ATV Crash

On Saturday evening, a Waukesha County teen was riding an ATV when he was involved in a crash. Authorities say that the man veered off the road and struck a tree in the town of Lakewood.

The 18 year old rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's department is investigating and has not released any other information about the crash or the victim.
