Milk Products Recalled

Certain milk products made by the Plainview Milk Products Cooperative have been voluntarily recalled because of possible salmonella contamination. The recall went into effect Sunday.

According to the US FDA, the recall affects all of the company's instant non fat dried milk, whey protein, fruit stabilizers and gums produced in the last two years. So far there have been no injuries resulting.

Woman Dies in Hit and Run

On Sunday night, a crash occurred involving two cars and a pedestrian in Milwaukee. Around 9:08pm, two cars crashed at the intersection of S Layton Blvd and W Orchard St. One of the cars then struck an elderly woman and drove off.

When emergency responders arrived, they pronounced the woman dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the accident. Police are invstigating the crash and looking for the responsible car.

Cookie Dough Recall

Nestle's Toll House cookie dough has been recalled for E coli contamination. So far 66 people have fallen ill from eating the dough raw and 25 people have been hospitalized.

The US Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control are investigating the illnesses across 28 states. The recall was voluntarily issued by Nestle.

Man and Toddler Injured in Rollover

A crash occurred this morning in Pleasant Springs around 10:45am. A man turned around in his SUV to attend to his 2 year old causing him to lose control and roll the vehicle several times.

The toddler was ejected in the crash but was found walking around with only minor injuries. Both he and the father were taken to University of Wisconsin Hospital for treatment.

Sweatshirts Recalled for Hazards

Macy's has recalled their Epic Threads sweatshirts for boys and girls and their Greendog sweaters for girls. The recalled items have drawstrings at the base of the hood that pose a choking hazard.

So far there have been no injuries reported. The only sized affected are small and medium. They were sold nationwide from July 2008 until March 2009.

City Receives Grant for Lead Removal

Mayor Larry Nelson has announced that the city of Waukesha has received a grant of $150,000 to rid homes of lead paint. The grant comes from DuPont's "Lead Safe… for Kids' Sake" program.

The program will focus on one area and will reduce lead hazards in homes while increasing blood tests for children to determine lead levels. The neighborhood to be targeted has not yet been revealed.

Victim Identified in House Fire

A house fire occurred on Friday in Green Bay. As the house was burning, fire fighters attempted to get inside but the entrances were too hot. However, they were able to get through most of the rooms in the house.

Unfortunately, there was one room in which the blaze was too intense. That was the room in which the victim, a wheel chair bound man, was located. Kenneth Johnson died in the fire which authorities are still investigating.

Industrial Accident Injures Worker

An accident occurred Friday morning in Sussex at Tools Incorporated. A man was using a piece of machinery to pull an industrial sized battery from a fork lift when the accident occurred.

The battery came loose from the cable that was holding it and hit the man in the leg. The man received treatment but the details, including his condition and extent of injury, were not reported.

Man Killed in Tractor Accident

On Saturday afternoon, a man was involved in an accident with a tractor and another piece of farming equipment. A woman was backing up the tractor to set up the equipment when the man was killed.

The man was trapped between the tractor and the equipment and was run over. No information about the man was released by the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.
