Toyota Recalls Yaris for Defect

Posted on Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 at 6:16 am

Toyota Motor Corporation has found a few flaws in its Vitz, Ractis and Belta-made vehicles.  Therefore, they will be recalling more than 1.35 million globally in attempt to fix the problems.

The vehicular problems seem to stem from either the seatbelt, the exhaust-system or both.  More than 500,000 of these vehicles were produced in Japan from the years 2005 to 2008, and the total number will be recalled.

A Vitz-model is also known as the Yaris in North America.  Of the three, this car is one that can be found throughout North America.  Toyota is a popular make in the United States, so those who have come in contact with this sporty, sedan-like cruiser, be extra cautious.

If you, or someone you know has been injured due to negligence in defective automobile parts, you must contact your Waukesha automoblie defect lawyer at 800-242-2874 to discuss your next steps..

Newborn Endures Permanent Brain Injury Due to Nursing Staff

Posted on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 8:01 am

Provena Mercy Medical Center, a hospital located in Aurora, IL, is responsible for the brain injuries a newborn boy sustained after negligent treatment from the labor and delivery staff.

The boy, who was born in the hospital and under the care of an obstetrician and a labor and delivery nurse, suffered a life-threatening reaction to the drug Pitocin.  Pitocin is a synthetic form of oxycotin (which is found naturally in a woman’s body), and is used to either induce or speed up labor.

The newborn apparently suffered a low heart rate and reduced oxygen flow after the Pitocin was administered.  None of the members of the staff acknowledged or did anything to respond to these critical conditions.

As a result, the baby has suffered permanent brain injuries.

If you and your family have been a victim of hospital negligence and a family member has suffered on their behalf, please contact your Waukesha medical malpractice attorney at 800-242-2874 to discuss the necessary steps to take.

Crash victim survived but lost life as he knew it

Each day, Ken and Patti Hock sit with their son, Ryan Hock, at the Brain Injury Rehab Center of Milwaukee.  Ryan cannot respond to his parents due to the severe brain injury he suffered after being hit head-on by a driver in Waukesha County.

The driver who hit Ryan, Daniel L. Kannegiesser, 36, was later determined to have been drinking and had amphetamines in his bloodstream.  Police also found an open container of beer in the driver’s side cup holder, which Kannegiesser failed to inform the authorities.

Earlier that year, Kannegiesser was cited for five traffic violations in two incidents in October and November.

Additionally, three days before hitting Ryan’s car head on, he drove his father’s Ford Econoline van into an embankment on Highway 45 in Wauwatosa.

Kannegiesser served 1 week in jail and then posted a $1000 bond.

Incidents like these are both physically and emotionally tormenting.  Please contact your Waukesha personal injury attorney at 800-242-2874 if you or someone you love has endured a similar scenario.
