However, after being transported to the Central Florida Reception center and subsequently airlifted to an Orlando hospital, it was discovered that his 4th and 5th vertebrae had been severed.

Prison Health Services, the company hired to provide medical care to inmates, is still in the lawsuit. The sheriff’s department did not renew the company’s contract last year.

The parents of Tyler Cox reached an $82,500 settlement with Washington County in a lawsuit over injuries caused to their son by a police dog in November 2004. The parents’ suit claimed that the police dog was improperly left unattended in the garage of their home in Beaverton while Tyler, his younger brother, and older sister were in the house. After one of the children let the dog into the house, Tyler was bitten, causing wounds which required 187 stitches to close.

Peter Pan peanut butter was recalled from store shelves after a batch of defective peanut butter has caused several consumers to become violently ill. Helen Williams felt the full and unpleasant effects of the peanut butter.
